Pupils at St William's Catholic Primary School in Trimdon are celebrating the election of their new School Councillors, who have already held their first meeting and begun sharing ideas for the year ahead.
The newly elected councillors met this week to discuss ways they can help make the school an even better place to learn, play and grow. The children brought forward a range of thoughtful suggestions and showed great enthusiasm for representing the views of their classmates.
The School Council plays an important role in school life, ensuring that pupil voice is heard and valued. It provides children with the opportunity to experience democracy in action by representing their peers, listening to different viewpoints and working together to make positive changes within the school community.
Staff were delighted by the confidence, commitment and enthusiasm shown by the councillors as they began their new roles. Their willingness to take responsibility and contribute to school improvement reflects the strong sense of community at St William's.
Everyone at St William's Catholic Primary School would like to congratulate the newly elected School Councillors and wish them every success in their roles. The school looks forward to seeing their ideas develop and come to life throughout the year.
