Pupils, staff and families at St William’s Catholic Primary School in Trimdon came together for a heartwarming Harvest Celebration, reflecting on the importance of gratitude, generosity and supporting those in need.

The festival provided an opportunity for the school community to give thanks for the harvest while celebrating the values of charity and kindness. Through the event, pupils were encouraged to think about the needs of others and how small acts of generosity can make a big difference.

As part of the celebration, the school embraced the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, particularly the call to support those who are less fortunate. The event also highlighted the virtues of responsibility and compassion, which are central to daily life at St William’s.

A wonderful number of donations were received from families to support the local food bank. These donations will be collected on Thursday morning before being distributed to help people in the community who are facing difficulties.

The school would like to thank all families and members of the school community who contributed to the Harvest Celebration and food bank collection. Their generosity demonstrates the caring spirit of St William’s Catholic Primary School and the positive impact that can be made when people come together to help others.

The Harvest Festival was a meaningful reminder of the importance of gratitude, community and service, with pupils showing how living out their faith and values can support those most in need.
